Day Two of Nick's driver training was rather uneventful. He took me to Wawa and back (as he needed to speak to his future manager and get some papers signed). I was baffled by how great he did on the nasty narrow bridge when a wide truck came at him right as he needed to go over! Well done!! He definitely liked driving my automatic better than Dad's stickshift. ;-) Later, Dad took him to Staples for some back-to-school supply shopping, and it sounds like he mastered that as well. We are off to a good start, I believe. Pray for the safety of all of us and those people we encounter on the road while we teach our pup the ins and outs of safe road behavior! He is doing great.
Oh yeah, and in case I haven't mentioned it enough...I love my FAMILY! Here they are last Sunday at Nick's 16th birthday dinner. It is so cool to have big kids - I don't think I would want to start with little ones again. But I will gladly accept grandkids one day, don't get me wrong. So for now, I think my family is gorgeous, albeit a bit crazy ;-) !
Our son got his driver's permit after turning 16 on Sunday, and Dad took him for a spin around the neighborhood yesterday afternoon. Here he is still waiting for the basics (i.e. Dad backing the car out of the driveway), but soon after he was roaring ;-) down the road, shifting gears (almost) like a pro. For all the excitement, go to the page containing all the photos. And be careful driving around Downingtown! P.S. I have a neckbrace should you require one.
