Nick and Elke at a recent wedding                   Dr. Inez Stoltzfus in Babak last year

We are so excited to share a wonderful opportunity with you.
This coming spring we, Nick and Elke, will be traveling to Senegal, West Africa, from March 15-24 with a group from Calvary Fellowship Church (CFC) in Downingtown, PA. We have partnered with Mission Inter Senegal for the past 8 years to help share the love of Christ with the Wolof and Serer tribes of Senegal.
You can follow the latest updates of our trip here.

In 2005, CFC adopted Babak, which is a Serer village of approximately 1500 people. We have worked with Pastor Antoine who shepherds a growing church and leads church planting efforts in five surrounding villages. We have been blessed to assist prayerfully and financially with various projects in the past 7 years. Babak now has 10 public fresh water faucets and 40 private faucets throughout the village which have dramatically improved the health and quality of life within the village.

Other projects have included the provision of a grain mill, a fence around the village school, the construction of a library and most recently funds to purchase grain for the village in response to a severe food shortage. This will be the third year for sponsoring 25 children from the village of Babak.

God has provided doctors and nurses for our team and we plan to conduct medical clinics in the surrounding villages. In addition, we’ll be ministering to women and children and building relationships with the leaders in villages surrounding Babak. We may help to equip the church planters and pastors through Bible teaching. For photos of last year's team and trip, click here.

Our greatest need for this trip is prayer. Last year, the team had prayer coverage round-the-clock and God’s blessings were abundant. This year, our team would like to do the same. If you’d like to support us through prayer, please email us and let us know: Elke or Nick - we will make sure you receive regular updates as we travel.

As you may know, Elke has been out of work since mid-June. If you feel led to co-labor with us through your financial support, you can make a donation below, which we will make sure gets to our church. You can also send a check to us (email us for address). If you send a check, please make it payable to Calvary Fellowship Church.

Our faith goal is to raise a significant portion ($5,000) of the $6,550 for this trip for the two of us by the time we leave. The immunizations alone are about $1,320 for the two of us.

If you would like to donate (honestly, any amount will greatly help us), please contact us. Checks made out to CFC will be considered tax-deductible.

Every blessing in Christ,
Nick and Elke Speliopoulos

When he (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matthew 9:36-38

Something that motivates us to go to every kindred and every tribe, starting with the Wolof and Serer in 2012.
